Our Story
African American Root Healing
At ZaRah, African American culture and root healing practices are cherished as foundational to happiness and fulfillment. Rooted in economic prosperity, they nurture holistic well-being, affirming our dedication to cultural heritage and personal enrichment.
Our holistic wellness journey started in 2003 with our founder’s healing practices, expanding into a network of African American Women holistic wellness practitioners. In 2018, four entrepreneurs launched our first collective at 1200 West Broadway Ave., North Minneapolis, quickly evolving into an incubator for practitioners. From 2019-2020, our workshops and healing sessions centered on chakras, Reiki, healing crystals, and more, benefiting over 150 individuals. This highlighted a growing community demand for holistic wellness practices.
Recognizing the access gap and the need for holistic wellness within the African American community, especially post the George Floyd tragedy, our founder established ZaRah in 2021 and acquired the 1200 W. Broadway building where our wellness journey began in 2018. ZaRah aims to enrich the community by offering integrative wellness services and elevating African American women entrepreneurs in wellness, beauty, food, retail, and contributing to the strength of the local Northside economy.
